Sand animation

Sand animation combines the elements of painting, shadow theatre and dance.

Four actors are needed for a sand art performance: sand, hands, a glass surface lit from beneath and music.
The hands move the sand over the glass and the image is being projected on a screen.
The music decides the choreography: sometimes there is already an implicit story in a musical piece and sometimes it has to be discovered by the sand artist.

Piano & Sand

2021 the project Piano & Sand was initiated together with the pianist and dear friend, Sabina Hasanova.
Three programs are evolving  within and beyond its playful frame so far:
Sand animation & piano solo
sand animation, piano solo & poetry
and
sand animation & neoclassical ambient with the violist Nikita Gerkusov.
Program details and upcoming concerts can be found on the Events page.
