Sand animation

Sand animation is a sensory fusion of painting, shadow theatre and hand choreography.

Within the interplay of music or spoken word and sand painting,
images are created live on a light table
and are simultaneously projected onto a screen.
The music or the text guide the sand choreography: sometimes there is already an implicit story and sometimes it is to be discovered by the sand artist.

Piano & Sand

2021 the project Piano & Sand was initiated together with the pianist and dear friend, Sabina Hasanova.
Three programs are evolving  within and beyond its playful frame so far:
an evening program NEW MOON with works by Debussy, Awadis, Boulanger, Ravel, Piazzolla and other composers,
and two family programs: Carnival of Animals by Saint-Saëns and Field Trip to the Moon in collaboration with Jeunesse and Elisabeth Pöcksteiner for dramaturgy.
